Mixed Media Small Canvas Workshop – Wednesday 24th january 2018 – 10am-12.30pm
In this workshop you will have fun making a mixed media Canvas using Powertex sculpting medium & by applying various textures.
You will be taken through all the steps to create your beautiful & unique mixed media canvas under the expert tuition of Madeleine Tanner, approved Powertex Trainer.
Learn how to create a simple canvas by applying texture using recycled fabrics before finishing with our lovely range of pigments.
You will learn lots of tips & techniques throughout the session to enable you to continue with own Powertex projects at home.
Where possible, we aim to use recycled textiles & found object in our workshops. If you have a piece of natural fibre material that you wish to incorporate into your work, then please feel free to bring this along with you & we can advise if it is suitable to use. However, all materials & protective gloves/aprons are included in the cost of the workshop.
Please can we request that you wear old clothes, long hair is tied back, & rings/bracelets are removed before attending.
What is Powertex?
Powertex fabric hardener and textile hardener is an environmentally friendly water-based liquid sculpting medium. Powertex can replace polyester for fabric hardening and textile hardening. Powertex can harden absorbent materials such as textiles, paper, cardboard, fabrics, leather and fiberglass. Powertex can be easily combined with self-hardening clays, concrete, stone, ceramic, wood, sand and Stone Art. Powertex is used for making sculptures, paintings, decorative objects and jewelry
